ENERGY POLICY

The ÀNECBLAU Shopping Center, reinforcing its commitment to respect for the environment and sustainability, considers the promotion of the rational use of energy as a fundamental value of its business strategy, through the incorporation of energy efficiency measures, with the aim of reducing environmental impact and facilitating a transition towards a low-carbon economy. For this reason, it carries out its activities in accordance with the principles of control and optimization of energy consumption in common areas and facilities, at all stages of the life cycle, and therefore combats climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other related impacts, as well as the associated energy costs.

As a result, and in compliance with these commitments, it applies the principles of the following energy policy and requires contracted companies and suppliers to provide their services in line with these same principles:

INTEGRATE ENERGY MANAGEMENT INTO OUR BUSINESS STRATEGY: Apply the criteria of efficiency and energy saving in decision-making, ensuring that it is both a priority and a practice, guaranteeing that it is suitable to the context and purpose of our organization, and involving all levels of the organization and other stakeholders.

COMPLY WITH LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AND OTHER SUBSCRIBED OBLIGATIONS: Maintain constant monitoring of compliance with current legislation and other subscribed requirements regarding the use, consumption, and efficiency of energy.

CONTROL ENERGY USE AND IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY: Carry out our activity within the parameters of sustainable development, ensuring the control and management of energy use, as well as maintaining equipment and facilities to guarantee optimized energy consumption.

IDENTIFY AND ASSESS ENERGY USES TO PROMOTE PREVENTION AND EFFICIENT USE OF ENERGY VERSUS CORRECTION AND MISUSE: Minimize negative impacts and control energy use by making a continuous effort to identify, characterize, and reduce the energy impact derived from our activities and facilities, while ensuring efficient use of energy resources to improve our performance in energy management.

PROMOTE THE ACQUISITION OF ENERGY-EFFICIENT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES AND DESIGN TO IMPROVE ENERGY PERFORMANCE: Promote sustainable alternatives that favor lower energy consumption, following the principles of energy-efficient procurement in the supply chain.

FOSTER INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT: Apply the cleanest, safest, most effective, and economically viable solutions available in our facilities, always promoting energy savings, as well as considering clean and renewable energy sources whenever technically and economically feasible.

PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RESOURCES FOR CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT OF THE ESTABLISHED ENERGY OBJECTIVES: Provide and communicate information and allocate the human and material resources required for the implementation of this energy policy, including those necessary for carrying out the activities derived from the implemented energy management system and for achieving the established energy objectives and targets.

SUPPORT PEOPLE: Promote and participate in initiatives that foster awareness, training, and sensitization, and progress in energy matters in order to improve the consumption habits of our employees, customers, visitors, and society in general, as a basic principle of continuous improvement in our relationship with energy management and the stakeholders connected to the Shopping Center. Provide knowledge in energy management and ensure the training of those who form the energy management team.

ENSURE STAFF PARTICIPATION: Foster a participatory environment among our own staff, contractors, and the staff of commercial premises and space assignees, integrating into the common goal of energy saving and improving communications that facilitate efficient energy management, encouraging all of them towards a responsible attitude through awareness and guidance.

PERSIST IN CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF ENERGY PERFORMANCE AND THE ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: Plan medium- and long-term objectives and review the energy management goals that are the cause and effect of continuous improvement, being aware that these can only be achieved through effort and proper adaptation to changes; review the energy management system to introduce any necessary changes to achieve the established objectives; as well as promote the application of measures and the development of activities required to achieve energy savings.

ACTIVELY REPORT ON ENERGY MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE RESULTS: Actively communicate to stakeholders the relevant results corresponding to energy performance.

This document serves as a framework for establishing the strategy, plans, and daily operations of the ÀNECBLAU Shopping Center’s Management in the development of its activities and is publicly available.
